In the gaze of the grand Sierras, you’re invited to picnic under grand oak trees, take time on the quaint sidewalks in our historic mining towns and visit winery owners and winemakers. Wonderful restaurants and charming bed-and-breakfast inns dot the gold-rush towns. History is everywhere! See it in the antique shops, museums, in the architecture, and in stories from the locals. Cycling, skiing, or hiking in breath-taking scenery tops off an ideal wine country weekend.
Mark your calendar for the first weekend in March and take part in our annual, Behind the Cellar Door event – an educational, epicurean and fun member-wide event. All members get together to celebrate The Big Crush on the first weekend in October. Guests to this event are given access to grape harvest activity not usually available in most wine regions.
Visit the Amador Council of Tourism for lots more information on attractions and hospitality in Amador County wine country.
