Enter the barrel room and see what it’s all about!
Have you ever been curious why wineries age wine in barrels? Wondered why it matters if the barrel comes from America or from France? And what does toast level have to do with anything?
Well, you are in for a treat this weekend. Assistant winemaker Jon Affonso will be taking you into our barrel room to see, and taste, the differences.
Explore old vs new oak, French vs American oak, medium vs heavy toast levels, standard barrel aging vs puncheon aging, and most importantly, finished wine vs unfinished wine.
We will hold two sessions each day; the first at 11:00am and the second at 2:00pm.

A complementary event... Come taste a perfect wine for warm weather and light summer fare. Enjoy a complementary tasting of the newly released 2011 Rosato of Sangiovese paired with gazpacho and spicy aioli.
Sangiovese grapes were specifically harvested last fall for this dry rosé. It is aromatic and crisp with vivacious, spicy strawberry and cranberry flavors.

Wine lovers are invited to enjoy A Divine Affair, a wine tasting event in the Grand Oak Ballroom and on the Garden Terrace at the Jackson Rancheria Hotel.
The event features dozens of Northern California wineries, plus food and entertainment.
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, and are available online at JacksonCasino.com or at the Dreamcatcher’s Club® in the Casino. The day of the event tickets are $35 and must be purchased at the Dreamcatcher’s Club® (no tickets available online or by phone on May 25). Must be 21 to attend.
Tickets include a complimentary wine glass and tray, wine tasting, food and entertainment. Wine purchases may be ordered, but must be shipped by or picked up at the winery.
Live entertainment will include a smooth unplugged show by the Rhythm Vandals and acoustic melodies by Manny Sousa.

The Amador Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) presents the 5th Annual Spaghetti Western and welcomes you to their fabulous fundraiser.From the moment you arrive, the good times begin. Ride the guest-tram through the vineyards, dance to Dick Cooper’s country-western band, enjoy the lively auction, and experience an authentic chuck-wagon/tri-tip barbecue with specially prepared spaghetti, salad, rolls, and dessert. Edie Lambert of KCRA will be the commentator introducing Dr. Ralph deVere White, Director of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and Dr. Frederick J. Meyers, Executive Associate Dean of the UC Davis School of Medicine. They will present this year’s recipient of the cancer-research grant. ACRF was established with the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, 1973, Landgraf Memorial Fund and is dedicated to raising funds for innovative cancer research.
